The following photographs were taken during a European book tour in 2004. Johnny Weissmuller, Jr. and his wife traveled to Ulm and Baden-Baden in Germany and Timisoara, Romania in connection with his book Tarzan, My Father.

Freidorf Church
Johnny Weissmuller, Jr. stands in front of television cameras at the entrance of the Freidorf Catholic church in which his father was baptized. He was interviewed by Romanian television during his 2004 visit to his father’s birthplace.

During his visit to Romania, Johnny Weissmuller, Jr. was shown a house
with this metal plaque on it, claiming that it is the house in which his father was born. It turned out that the actual house is no longer standing and the plaque is incorrect.
