he is surprisingly popular and well-known for an actress who has made so many bad movies. But in the few good films in which Nastassja Kinski has appeared, her striking model's face and acting ability always hold out hope for better things to come.
Her many bad or weak movies may also explain why there's no official Nastassja Kinski Web site. Nevertheless, she does have devoted fans around the world who have put Nastassja on the Web. She made her screen debut in the 1975 Wim Wenders film Falsche Bewegung/Wrong Move when she was barely 16.
The daughter of Klaus Kinski and his first wife Ruth Brigitte was born Nastassja Nakszynski on January 24, 1959 in West Berlin. After her parents split up when she was 10 years old, Nastassja lost contact with her father and he would later refuse even to acknowledge that he had a daughter. Nastassja had her own daughter in 1984. She later married the father, Egyptian film producer Ibrahiim Moussa.
Nastassja's first major screen role was in a motion picture made by her then lover and mentor, the Polish director Roman Polanski. Critics generally liked her performance in Polanski's Tess (1979), but much of her later film work has been less impressive.
