The Hollywood Years 2 (1950-76)
Alfred Hitchcock is probably best known for the films he made from the mid-1950s into the 1960s. Starting with a string of hits in 1954/55 (Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief), Hitchcock then went on to produce yet another string of pictures now considered cinema classics: Vertigo (1958), North by Northwest (1959), Psycho (1960), and The Birds (19xx).
This filmography is divided chronologically into several sections: UK and German silents, UK sound, and Hollywood (below). For more about Alfred Hitchcock, see Part 1 of our Hitchcock section.
