Easy Day (1996)
Director: Hans Horn. Potente also made several made-for-TV movies
in 1996.
Die drei Mädels von der Tankstelle | The Three Girls from the Gas Station (1997)
The title is based on a German classic film (Die drei von der Tankstelle, The Three Guys...) of the 1930s starring Heinz Rühmann, although it has little else to do with that musical movie. It's a rare Potente flop that got pretty bad reviews. One critic: That low moaning you hear is Heinz Rühmann turning over in his grave. Directed by Peter F. Bringmann.

Der Krieger und die Kaiserin | The Princess and the Warrior (2000)
Directed by Tom Tykwer. The German title actually says The Warrior and the Empress and the film's Web site is split into separate Warrior (Krieger) and Princess (Kaiserin) sections. It's the story of psychiatric nurse Sissi (Potente) and Bodo (Furmann) who meet beneath the truck that just ran her down as he tries to save her life a chance encounter that changes everything in their lives. (Has a familiar Lola ring, huh?) Tykwer filmed this with his favorite actress (and then girlfriend) in his hometown of Wuppertal. US theatrical release was in June 2001.
