It was for this sci-fi thriller that Hans Gudegast became Eric Braeden. He plays an American computer scientist named Dr. Charles Forbin. “Colossus” is the supercomputer he invented. An interesting 1970 “computers gone bad” foreshadowing of WarGames (1983) that may have been inspired by HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). Colossus soon discovers its Russian counterpart, Guardian, and the two electronic brains decide to make a better world.    > Buy the VHS Video

If he had been credited for his role as a radio officer in this Marlon Brando film, Hans Gudegast would have still had his German name. (At the time, he was still doing his TV work under that name.) Directed by the Austrian Bernhard Wicki. Also titled The Saboteur, Code Name Morituri.

Operation Eichmann (1961)
This was Hans Gudegast's first feature film role, a minor part as Klaus. The main roles were filled by Werner Klemperer, Ruta Lee, and John Banner.
